A.    Brief introduction

 

   Cyprus, with the full name of The Republic of Cyprus, is an island country located at the border between Europe and Asia and the east of Mediterranean. Its area is 9,251 square kilometers. In 2013, the estimated population of the whole island is 1,141,166. Cyprus is the intersection of Europe, Africa and Asia, and also one of the members of the European Union.

   Geographic position: Cyprus is an island country located at the east of Mediterranean. Only second to Sicily and Sardinia, Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean, with a coastline 537 km in length. Long and narrow mountains and hills are in the north. Mountain chains are in the southwestern, with high terrain there.  Mesaoria Plain is in the central. No perennial rivers but  few intermittent streams are on the island. It is subtropical Mediterranean climate. The weather is hot and dry in summer, with temperature 28-35 ℃ on average. The weather is moderate and moist in winter, with temperature 4-10 ℃. Cyprus is a popular hot spot for recreational tourism in Europe. Besides, an internationally renowned yacht marina and a golf course are now being built  there.

   Economy: Cyprus is a traditional agricultural country, and also focuses on the development of tourism. The people there are relatively rich, with per capita gross domestic product higher than the mean value of European Union. Cyprus is an internationally famous shipping center and the largest third party ship management center in European Union. It boasts the 10th largest merchant fleet around the world. Some famous enterprises in the global shipping industry are also there.

 

            

B.     Advantage of naturalization plan

 

-    The spouse and the unmarried child below 27 years old may also apply at the same time (the child above 18 years old only needs to prove his/her full-time student identity);

-    Benefits to parents: Can apply for Cyprus citizenship for main applicant’s parent while parents-in-law can apply for permanent residence;

-    Cyprus passport holder is visa-free of 157 countries, including the European Union countries e.g. France, Germany, Italy, and Britain, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, South Africa and Dubai etc.;

-    As one of the members of European Union, Cyprus boasts good geographical position, through which, you may travel, engage in business, work, and trade properties among  European Union countries;

-    Enjoy the free health care of European Union;

-    Freely study at the school or college/university of any member country of European Union, or enjoy the sole discount that a citizen of European Union enjoys;

-    The lowest tax rate in European Union, free of overseas tax, without inheritance tax.

 
C. Franchised naturalization plan (Program I: make investment on bonds/shops/office building; or Program II: purchase residential properties)

  

   Cyprus released €2,500,000 or €2,000,000 franchised naturalization plan since September 2016, the process of which is to obtain permanent residence certificate in about one month, and be naturalized and obtain passport during about 6-8 months.

   This application allows the resident of non-EU countries to be naturalized via investing there. The program is as below:

 

Program I: make investment on bonds/shops/office buildings and residence (the total capital involved is requested as €2,500,000)

‧Invest €2,000,000 on bonds/shops/office building, etc., and hold it/them for three years at least;

‧Meanwhile need to invest €500,000 to buy residential properties;

‧Three years later, the relevant invested bonds/shops/office building, etc. valuing €2,000,000 may be sold, but applicant must at least hold the residence(s) with the value no less than €500,000 under his/her name (applicant must buy another property valuing €500,000 as a substitute if selling the residence(s) with value no less than €500,000) so as to reserve the passport of Cyprus.

 

Program II: purchase residential properties (the total capital involved is requested as €2,000,000)

‧Invest €2,000,000 to buy one or multiple suites of residential property, and hold it/them for three years at least;

‧If the residence(s) is/are sold three years later, applicant must at least hold the residence(s) with the value no less than €500,000 under his/her name (applicant must buy another property valuing €500,000 as a substitute if selling the residence with value no less than €500,000) so as to reserve the passport of Cyprus.

** The above invested amount is based on a family as a unit, including a couple and their child(ren). With extra property investment valuing €500,000, main applicant may apply for naturalization for his/her own parents, and obtain passport.

 

D.    Application qualification

 

-          Principal applicant must be at the age of or above 18 years old;

-          The spouse and the unmarried child(ren) below 18 years old may apply at the same time; the 18 ~ 27 years old child(ren) in school may apply at the same time.

-          No criminal record.

 

E.      Necessary documents

 

1. 2 color photos for each person

2. Passport of each person (the notarized duplicate of each page)

3. Notarial Certificate of Marriage

4. Notarial Certificate of Birth of each person

5. Notarial Certificate of No Criminal Record (applicable for the applicant over 16 years old)

 

F.     Consultant fees for naturalization plan

 

-     Expenses paid for local attorney (including the subscription for bonds and the procedures relating to buying house): €16,000; extra €4,000 for each other family member.

-     Service fee paid for our company: principal applicant €20,000; extra €2,000 for each other family member.
